Overview:

The Center for Economic Research in Pakistan (CERP) is a non-profit research center based in Lahore with the strategic objective of informing policy and practice by filling socio-economic research gaps in Pakistan using rigorous economic research tools. CERP seeks suitable candidates for the following position, based in Lahore.

Responsibilities:

The Human Resource Officer will be responsible to provide administration services for the recruitment and employment of staff. Specific responsibilities include;

  • Generate and manage HR documentation, including employee contracts, termination notices, promotion, legal notices, evaluations, exit/termination of employee, background checks, etc.
  • Employee Record Database maintenance: Ensure that all HR databases are up to date, accurate, and comply with legislation
  • Performing file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained  
  • Effectively implement company policies and procedures with core management team  
  • Respond to employee requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations
  • Assist in creating new policies as needed  
  • Scheduling and coordination: Arrange HR committee meetings, job interviews, and assessments; maintain calendars of renewals and HR activities
  • Payroll management: Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data
  • Recruiting: Post employment opportunities on various online portals; Communicate with applicants during the recruiting process  
  • Assist with orientation and on-boarding activities, including setting up a email address, etc.
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to HR manager  
  • Other duties as necessary

Skills and Qualification

  • BBA Management, BSc. Management, B.Com, or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of post-qualification experience, with some bookkeeping experience preferred.
  • Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Well-organized with strong follow-up skills.
  • Ability to set goals and meet deadlines
  • Proven trustworthiness handling highly sensitive and/or confidential data.
  • Applied knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and basic Internet-based research; previous ERP experience a strong plus
