Center for Peace and Development (CPD) is a non-government and non-profit civil society organization based in Baluchistan. It promotes the peace, human rights education and sustainable development in the province.

We are looking for a potential candidate for the position of Advocacy Officer for its Project, Women Enjoyment of Rights, Empowerment and Leadership (WE’RE LEADERS)

About the Project:

WE’RE Leaders is a four-year initiative (2019-2023) funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC). The project is being implemented by TDEA along with member organization, FAFEN. The project’s goal is to enhance women’s political participation in Pakistan, particularly focusing on the young, and the marginalized. 

Job Description:

  • Designing, planning and implementing advocacy strategy and campaigns.
  • Accessing and analyzing the performance of the political parties at district and provincial level in close coordination with TDEA.
  • Organizing capacity building training, workshops and special sessions, on advocacy related topics on regular basis.
  • Supporting and facilitating the process to form networks with various to mobilize their support for sustainable development initiatives.
  • Designing, planning and implementing advocacy strategy and campaigns for District Governance Groups (DGGs)
  • Accessing and analyzing the performance of the political parties at district and provincial level in close coordination with TDEA.
  • Preparing quarterly advocacy plans in coordination with other TDEA staff and share it with the organization on regular basis.  
  • Writing district and constituency-based research reports, abstracts, press releases and other advocacy materials etc.
  • Excavating and reporting results in the form of relevant case studies/success stories on quarterly basis to the donor.
  • Organizing capacity building training, workshops and special sessions, on advocacy related topics on regular basis.
  • Supporting and facilitating the process to form networks with various stakeholders such as development sector donors, NGOs, private sector, research organizational and academic institutions to mobilize their support for sustainable development initiatives.
  • Keeping tabs on organizational research and such the channels of advocacy to facilitate the process of lobbying for policymaking/change.
  • Actively participating and representing organization in seminars, conferences and other relevant interventions.

Skills Required:

  • Ability to write clear and concise reports.
  • Ability to interact effectively in the geographically dispersed area of intervention..
  • Strong analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proven ability to work effectively with a diverse set of program staff.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Urdu. Knowledge of local languages will be considered an additional competency.
  • Strong skills in effective use of MS Office and Excel.
