The Quality Control Manager ensures that all footwear produced through P.U. and E.V.A. injection molding processes meets company quality standards and customer requirements. The role involves managing all quality control operations from raw materials to final products, maintaining process consistency, and leading continuous improvement activities across both P.U. and E.V.A. departments.
Key Responsibilities: 1. Quality Planning & Control
Develop and implement quality inspection procedures for both P.U. and E.V.A. production lines.
Define and maintain acceptance standards for raw materials, components, and finished footwear.
Create and update QC checklists, SOPs, and visual inspection standards.
2. Process Monitoring
Monitor and control P.U. machine parameters (mixing ratio, temperature, injection time, curing, etc.).
Supervise E.V.A. molding processes (foaming ratio, density, expansion control, and color uniformity).
Conduct in-process quality audits to ensure consistent product performance.
3. Inspection & Testing
Supervise inspection of incoming materials (chemicals, soles, uppers, adhesives, fabrics, etc.).
Conduct and document testing for adhesion strength, density, flexibility, hardness, and color fastness.
Identify root causes of defects such as bubbles, bonding issues, deformities, or poor finishing.
4. Team Leadership
Lead, train, and supervise QC inspectors and line quality checkers.
Conduct regular quality awareness sessions for operators and supervisors.
Assign daily inspection tasks and ensure timely feedback to production teams.
5. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain detailed quality records, inspection sheets, and test reports.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality performance summaries.
Track defect trends and prepare CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) reports.
6. Coordination & Communication
Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, and R&D teams to improve product quality and resolve issues.
Liaise with suppliers and customers on quality matters when necessary.
Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 and internal audit requirements.
7. Continuous Improvement
Analyze process data to reduce rejection rates and rework.
Recommend improvements in materials, machine settings, and work methods.
Lead Kaizen and 5S quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Footwear Technology, Polymer Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in footwear manufacturing, with hands-on exposure to P.U. and E.V.A. machines.
Strong understanding of injection molding, foaming, and finishing processes.
