POSITION TITLE:        Child Care Coordinator

DUTY STATION:           Islamabad

CONTRACT TYPE:       Fixed Term

Job Purpose:

The incumbent will be responsible for quality implementation of Orphan Sponsorship Program interventions in line with Organizational strategy within assigned area, ensure effective service delivery and provision of technical assistance to project staff & Child & Women Development Program department.

KEY RESULT AREAS 

Technical Level

-       Planning and implementation of Orphan Sponsorship Program activities as per business process / project documents at country and field level.

-       Lead on improving socio-economic condition of orphan sponsored families through Orphan care, healthcare, education career counselling, and building their capacity through social empowerment as well as linkages with line department in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, KP and AJK.

-       Ensure quality and quantity throughout project implementation

-       Capacity building of communities & subordinates on technical grounds

Operational Level

-       Development of integrated work plans for timely implementation

-       Coordination (internal & external stakeholders) related to project

-       Record management – Assessment, databases, project activities report, daily field visit reports, project documents etc.

-       Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook, ERP systems

-       Communication, Planning & Scheduling, Time, Stress & Conflict Management, Situation handling, Leadership Skills, Work load & team management

Organizational Level

-       Empowering communities to ensure organizational accountability

-       Identification & documentation of organizational successes

-       Adaptation of environment friendly & cost effective approaches / activities for community development

-       Special attention to inclusion during the implementation.

-       Strengthen mechanism to influence the decision makers through communities’ advocacy & campaigning.

KEYACCOUNTABILITIES

Technical

·         Develop in depth understanding of project documents (SLA, LFA, budget, proposal) as well as business process / DIP for planning & implementation of project activities.

·         Improve the socio-economic conditions of orphan families through in time disbursement of monitory support on quarterly basis, mainstreaming in society through urban social mobilization model, career counselling of children, family development planning, etc.

·         Improve the access of widowed families to social service facilities available around them by liaising to governmental and non-governmental stakeholders through strong referral mechanism.

·         Establish career counselling mechanism throughout the project areas and provide merit based sponsorship to most deserving students.

·         Mobilize and strengthen the Orphan Guardian Groups to raise voice for their rights through active engagement and linkages with line department.      

·         Perform quality & quantity assurance checks by paying regular visits to project target area to verify the work is performed in compliance with the plans and specifications.

·         Lead on Identification & hiring of project team and interns while working in close collaboration with HR department.

·         Responsible for management of project team, documentation of performance feedback, grievance handling and other day to day affairs where applicable. 

Operational

·         Designing integrated work plans in collaboration with teams from other departments/thematic areas.

·         Coordinate with internal & external stakeholders working in project areas related to project and other matters of mutual interest.

·         In place contingency plan to deal with external factors affecting or may affect the field activities

·         Ensure preparation & record management of project activities.

·         Preparation of daily, weekly, monthly and other progress reports for management’s info.

·         Extend support to MEAL / MIS / Communications staff for gathering desired information.

·         Close coordination with line manager for effective implementation of project activities

Organizational

·         Ensure compliance with Organization’s policies & procedures in true spirit for effective delivery of services to communities.

·         In depth understanding of Organization’s values and their demonstration in the field while working with communities.

·         Abide by the zero tolerance policy towards bribery & corruption through sensitization / empowerment of communities on coping mechanism so that they can raise voice as & when feel inappropriate.

·         Assist in identification & documentation of organizational successes for show casing.

·         Facilitate communities in adaptation of environment friendly & cost effective approaches to meet their current as well as future needs with specific attention to climate change.

·         Focused efforts to be made for mainstreaming of marginalized groups i.e. Persons with disability and old age, minorities, Women & children etc. in consultation & implementation of project activities at ground.

·         Strengthen mechanism to Influence the decision makers through communities to pay attention towards their core issues, give voice to suffering and the excluded, highlighting the protection needs of people.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

It is essential that the post holder shows a good understanding and sympathy with Organizational values and principles as well as commitment to safeguarding & PSEA.

Qualification:

 Bachelor / Masters degree preferably in Social Science or Management Science

Experience:

Minimum experience of similar role in NGO setup:

6 Years with Master degree and/or 9 year with Bachelor degree

Computer Skills:

MS Office, Outlook, ERP systems familiarity

Language:

Urdu, English and local languages
