Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare relevant climate change & adaption tools for the project toolbox.
  • Provide climate change & adaption related inputs to the tools required in the toolbox and curricula for all CRP categories.
  • Prepare climate change & adaption mainstreaming curricula for the relevant CRPs.
  • Supervise and ensure delivery of the implementation of tools and curricula at all levels from project team through partner organizations to grass root level.
  • Assist in review of organization’s climate change & adaption strategy.
  • In line with project activities, conduct contextual climate risk analysis of the targets and identify options for climate resilience strategies for the proposed livelihood interventions under the project.
  • Provide technical input to social mobilization and livelihood teams in designing and implementing capacity building sessions on climate change adaptation/resilience.
  • Organize capacity building trainings for partner organizations and Community Resource Persons in climate change adaptation/resilience.
  • Develop IEC and awareness material for climate change & adaption sessions for communities/livelihood beneficiaries.
  • Facilitate project management team and partner organizations in development of capacity building, reporting and monitoring tools to record progress of capacity building sessions on climate change & adaption.
  • Provide technical input to Social mobilization team and partner organizations staff in facilitating community institutions in mainstreaming climate change & adaption/climate resilience in UCDPs/VDPs.

Job Specifications:

  • Master’s degree or 16 year education preferably in Environmental Sciences, Development Economics, Energy, Public Finance, Environmental Law or related field from a HEC recognized institution.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in the area of climate change and natural resources management, vulnerability mapping, governance, community based development programmes preferably with an International development sector organization.
  • Experience in developing specialized tools for climate change & adaption implementation strategy.
  • Proven experience in liaising/coordinating with the donor and donor supervision mission; creating linkages and building relationships with stakeholders.
  • Experience in policy development processes associated with climate change preferably with an international organization.
  • Able to prioritize clearly and oversee multiple tasks; able to take the initiative in project decisions.
  • Proven experience of capacity building and training skills for communities, partner organizations etc.
  • Able to impart comprehensive Climate Change & Adaptation based knowledge to communities through identification and transfer of best practices and lessons learned.
