  • We have general radiology requirements to cover cross-sectional imaging although sub-specialisms are welcome:
  • Breast Imaging
  • Abdominal Imaging
  • Cardiac Imaging
  • Emergency Radiology
  • Musculoskeletal Imaging
  • Neuro-interventional Radiology
  • Neuroradiology
  • Nuclear Medicine
  • Paediatric Radiology
  • Thoracic Imaging
  • Vascular Interventional Radiology
  • General Interventional Radiology
  • Particularly Gynaecology, Urology, Hepatobiliary, Head and Neck, RECIST/Research, Upper and Lower Gastro-Intestinal Radiology, Paediatrics and any others that add value to this expanding service.
  • As a diagnostic radiologist you will be encouraged to further develop your CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine/PET, Fluoroscopy, Interventional expertise etc. At ULHT we like to work flexibly to allow you to thrive.
  • There is an expectation that the post-holder will offer general radiological expertise and take part in routine work in the department. The department would be flexible in accommodating secondary areas of interest.
  • Travel to other sites in the Trust may occasionally be required, reporting work from all of the Trust’s sites will be required. The successful candidate will have broad-based experience and knowledge and he/she will complement other Consultant colleagues in providing a comprehensive range of imaging
  • If the successful candidate elects to undertake a part time contract, they will be required to devote substantially the whole of their professional time to the duties of the post and to give them priority at all times. Any applicant who is unable for personal reasons to work full time will be eligible to be considered for the post.
  • If such a person is appointed, modification of the content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust in consultation with consultant colleagues.
  • You will be expected to participate in the General Radiology On-call Rota. This is currently primarily provided by an outsourcing company 6pm-9am Monday-Sunday. Although this may be subject to review in the future. There is a requirement to provide shadow cover in the eventuality of its failure etc. Currently the frequency varies from site to site approximately 1:6.
  • Candidates will be GMC registered with specialist registration, or in a position to obtain CCST within 12 months.
  • Contract: Full time – Number of DCC’s 8.5 (plus on call 1.0), Number of SPAs 1.5 (On-call SPA remuneration dependent on the On-call Rota).
  • On call: Currently 1:4-8 plus additional payments depending on intensity and frequency
  • Responsible to: Clinical Director
  • Reporting to: Radiology Head of Service
