Senior Accountant

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant with hands-on experience in managing UK-based accounts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate financial statements, managing VAT returns, ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards, and supporting management with financial insights.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including profit & loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Manage and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of books.
Prepare and file VAT returns in accordance with UK tax laws.
Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and accounting standards.
Manage bank reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.
Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Liaise with auditors during annual audits and provide all required documentation.
Use accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar systems.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong understanding of UK accounting principles and financial regulations.
Proven experience in VAT preparation and filing.
Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, VT Transactions, etc.)
Excellent command of Excel and other financial reporting tools.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple clients simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Education & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Accounting & Finance (ANF).
3–5 years of professional accounting experience (UK accounting experience is mandatory).
ACCA (completed or in progress) will be given strong preference.
