This position offers an excellent opportunity to be involved in architecture and development of industry leading real time expert system and related products. The work involves architecture, design and development of new functionality and requires hands-on product development. Additionally, it involves interacting with business, customers and management on a regular basis. There is a lot of freedom and choice to architect and build new solutions to interesting problems and build new features.
Role and Responsibilities
Work on architecture, design and coding using JIRA with Agile methodology
Interact with business and customers to understand the issues and tackle difficult problems
Attend customer and business meetings to better understand their requirements and ensure delivery of new requirements on time and within budget goals
Break complex problems down into actionable solutions which can be completed by developers in 1 or 2 week sprints and act as guide for developers to help them resolve those tasks
Provide effort estimates and inputs into delivery schedule for release train planning
Identify root causes and come up with design and approach to fix the issues
Hands on work to resolve critical customer issues as per assigned priority
Interact with team members on a regular basis and mentor team members
Document and present dev plans to management and answer any queries
Contribute to IP by writing white papers and introduce innovative solutions to problems
Enhance, document and maintain process and procedures for the group
Define coding standards and provide guidelines to developers
Maintain SVN and other repositories and ensure consistency in work submitted by developers
Create new version releases and produce white papers and tech-notes for new functionality
Minimum qualifications
Lisp programming using LispWorks IDE
C/C++ programming using MS Visual Studio IDE
Linux or unix skills including shell scripting
Involved in architecture and design of enterprise products
Should be able to perform code review, merge and release activities
Knowledge of rule engines and/or expert systems
Strong understanding of CS fundamentals, algorithms, data structures and OO methodologies
Self-motivated, passionate and team player with good communication skills
10 years overall experience in software development
Previous product development full lifecycle experience is necessary
Desired skills
Master’s degree or higher in CS
5+ years as architect and/or team lead
5+ years in c/c++ development
1+ years in lisp programming
Build and integration using Ant, SVN and JIRA
Experience in working with databases like Oracle/Sybase
Experience using JMail/JNI/ActiveX/ODBC
Experience with any of the OPC/HLA/PI system
Experience in MFC/X-Windows development
Exposure to .Net and Java frameworks (Visual Studio .Net and Eclipse)
Experience in two or more full product development and release lifecycle

10+ years overall experience with a minimum of 5 years as Architect and team lead
Minor skills required
Experience in one of databases (Oracle/Sybase), Java/.Net framework
Master’s degree (CS) or higher

Compensation
Total annual compensation is $100K, that’s $50/hr for a 40 hour work week
