Job Description
- Keep an eye on the health of network infrastructure via monitoring tools
- Diagnose and escalate, if required, network issues to various stakeholders i.e. Network Planning team, Support teams, IP transit and Long-haul provider for immediate restoration.
- Proactively identify, diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to IP/Data/MPLS VPN customers.
- Document each individual problem and its resolution into central repository.
- Update internal monitoring/reporting system with updated information in order to ensure smooth operation.
- Carry out activation, configuration and programming of various network elements for service provisioning.
- Install new hardware or software systems, while ensuring integration with existing network systems.
- Ensure closure of issues via email/phone correspondence with various stakeholders.
Job Requirements
- Network monitoring, support and administration experience, preferably from ISP industry.
- Understanding of technologies like VLSM, Static routing, OSPF, BGP, RIP, MPLS, Metro Ethernet, Layer2 switching, tunneling protocols.
- Certifications: CCNA/CCNP R&S preferred.
- Networking: OSI Layer, Knowledge of Switches, Routers, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP Suite.
- Ability to work in teams and independently with candid professional attitude and excellent analytical problem solving skills.
- Expertise on Linux/Unix with scripting on programming languages will be preferred.
- Willing to work in shifts environment (24x7).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focused and result oriented personality.
