The ICT Manager Pakistan is responsible for the successful and prompt delivery of ICT services and support in Pakistan to ensure that business objectives are met and leads a local team of ICT engineers and supporters.This position takes ownership for the reliable operation of all business relevant IT infrastructure components. It is also responsible for local IT project planning, management and execution. Close collaboration and alignment with Corporate IT in headquarters in Europe is key for all tasks.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities Governance

  • Collaborate with senior management and IT personnel including engineers and architects to ensure alignment between business and IT.
  • Provide business analysis / consulting and perform requirements engineering.
  • Prioritize business requirements in alignment with the overall strategic direction of the business and ensure that adequate business cases are present for all approved projects.
  • Provide recommendations for continuous ICT service improvements.
  • Participate in development of group IT standards.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures.

Administration

  • Develop and manage the local ICT team.
  • Forecast and manage the local ICT budget, participate in the global IT budget process.
  •  Perform local IT supplier management incl. procurement and negotiations in alignment with Corporate IT.

Operation

  • Control and manage country specific ICT services.
  • Ensure that the ICT infrastructure (facilities, network, servers, storage, endpoint devices, telephone and video conference systems) is properly maintained and adequately documented, in co-operation with internal and external partners.
  • Support the local IT hardware lifcecycle and perform replacements of ICT infrastructure (e.g. network components, server, clients).
  • Monitor IT services and escalate issues according to established processes.
  •  Take ownership for all incidents, problems, and change management processes in Pakistan, also providing an interface to Global IT Service Desk / 2nd Level Support at HQ
  • Coordinate all user trainings and communications incl. relevant translations for Pakistan.
  • Participate in the global IT stand-by / emergency process, supporting business continuity.

Projects

  • Take ownership and lead local IT projects (e.g. office moves and expansions).
  • Assist in HQ driven IT projects (e.g. global software rollouts).

Requirements

  • Fluent written and oral command of English and Urdu
  • ITIL V3 Foundation or equivalent experience

Experience

Minimum of 10 years of IT experience in an international environment, including leadership in some or all of the following disciplines:

  • Networking (routing / switching and security)
  • Compute and storage infrastructure
  • Datacenter management and/or Cloud computing (including SaaS, PaaS and IaaS)
  • Application administration.
  • Service desk.
  • Experience in collaboration with technical resources as well as functional business process owners and subject matter experts
  • Proven project and program management skills
