JOB BRIEF
We are seeking an experienced engineer who will be responsible for managing high availability and resilient platforms and systems. You will be part of an agile team, working closely with developers, product owners and testers. Some of your key responsibilities will include
You will need to be comfortable across a wide range of technologies and be willing to take on new ones. You should have good knowledge of Linux, Java, Postgres and Apache along with AWS and micro services architecture -knowledge of containers (docker and kubernetes) is also required. And you’ll need to help guide clients through this process in a short timeframe.
In this role, you’ll work collaboratively with software engineers to deploy and operate different systems, help automate and streamline our operations and processes, and build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations. In addition you will also troubleshoot and resolve issues in our dev, test and production environments. Other tasks include:
- Supporting highly available and resilient platforms
- Bug fixing
- Automation, implementation and maintenance of processes
- Manage internal systems and support stakeholders
What we are looking for

Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration

Experience with automation/configuration management using either Puppet, Chef or an equivalent

Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services
- Experience with the following is required:AWS, Terraform, Docker, Ansible, Jenkins, and Packer
- AWS Certification is required

Strong experience with SQL and MySQL (NoSQL experience is a plus, too, since we also use Redis)

A working understanding of code and script (PHP, Python, Perl and/or Ruby)

Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service

BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject

Experience in banking sector or branchless banking is an added advantage

Good verbal and written technical communication skills. Must be a team player and work well with others
