Knowledge Skill Requirements:

This position prefers 3+ years of experience as a Network/Systems Administrator and IT Support preferably in a data or converged networking environment. Experience in business operational support or business support systems is preferred.

A minimum of two years of technical leadership and/or technical project management experience as demonstrated by a combination of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Familiarity and experience in Network and Systems management.
  • Knowledge of information technology platforms pertaining to converged network environments.
  • Experience and knowledge in LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) is recommended.
  • effective communication skills.
  • excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to be an escalation point for all Optanix Platform issues
  • Advanced understanding of Optanix Platform Analytics

General Linux (Unix) system administration skills.  Familiarity with database structures, queries, and administration is preferred.  Ability to work independently with customers.  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.  The Engineer should have a broad knowledge of converged networked environment device types, business processes, data (management and integrity) management, and business management.

General computing and mathematic skills, including the use of office productivity software, such as word processing, spreadsheet, presentation software, and e-mail are required.

Job Summary & Duties:

The Optanix Platform Level 2 Engineer provides support to both the Optanix Platform and supports the level 1 engineer in their role. Employ the principles, methodologies, procedures, and project management “best practices” to ensure that projects, tasks, and/or deliverables are completed on time. Maintain effective customer communications.

  • Post-sale support: Assist the implementation team were needed to help with any technical deployment issues
  • Health and maintenance support duties.
  • Escalation point for all issues escalated by Level 1 engineers.
  • Review, document, and assess the priority of escalation cases from the Level 1 team to be passed to Triage.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on all customers of Optanix Platform appliances to ensure proper and consistent monitoring across our entire customer base.
  • From time to time, ATSG/Optanix may require its members to obtain additional certification levels required to achieve the company's objectives. ATSG/Optanix will support the educational development required to achieve these additional certification levels.
  • Other duties: Participate in special projects and perform related duties as assigned by department management. Additional duties may include after-hours on-call support.
