The IT Coordinator at Door of Awareness plays a vital role in ensuring the continuous efficiency and reliability of the organizations IT infrastructure. This role involves managing and maintaining all hardware, software, and network systems across both the Head Office and field offices. The coordinator provides timely technical support to staff, addressing any hardware or software issues, ensuring uninterrupted internet connectivity, and safeguarding organizational data. Emphasizing data security, this position also involves installing software updates, antivirus programs, and conducting regular data backups to protect sensitive information.
In addition to technical duties, the IT Coordinator is responsible for supporting digital communication tools such as virtual trainings, webinars, and online meetings, ensuring that staff can leverage technology effectively. The role includes maintaining accurate records of all IT assets, coordinating with external vendors for equipment procurement and maintenance, and assisting with organizational database and reporting system setups. Although this position does not include team management responsibilities, it demands excellent coordination and communication skills to train staff in basic IT usage and cybersecurity awareness, contributing to the overall efficiency and security of IT operations within the NGO environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain all IT infrastructure, including computers, laptops, printers, scanners, and networking equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
- Provide technical support to staff for hardware, software, internet, email, and system-related issues, ensuring timely resolution.
- Monitor and maintain office networks, internet connectivity, and communication systems to minimize disruptions.
- Install, configure, and update software, operating systems, antivirus programs, and other security applications to maintain system security and functionality.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory and records of all IT assets and equipment, ensuring accurate tracking and management.
- Ensure regular and secure data backup processes to protect organizational information and maintain confidentiality.
- Support online meetings, virtual trainings, webinars, and other digital communication platforms to facilitate remote collaboration.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for the procurement, maintenance, and repair of IT equipment, ensuring quality service delivery.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of organizational databases, management information systems, and digital reporting tools.
- Train staff on basic IT usage, cybersecurity awareness, and effective use of digital tools to enhance overall IT literacy.
- Prepare and submit monthly reports detailing IT activities, status of assets, and resolution of technical issues.
- Provide IT support to field offices and project locations as required, ensuring consistent IT service across all sites.
