Echo Consultants is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Geologist with at least two years of experience to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in conducting geological surveys and analysis to support various projects. This role requires extensive fieldwork, including data collection and interpretation using advanced geological and geophysical techniques. The Geologist will utilize tools such as GIS software, remote sensing technologies, and seismic data analysis to identify and evaluate subsurface conditions and contribute valuable insights for project planning and execution. This position demands a willingness to work on project sites and operate field geology equipment in diverse environments.
Within this position, the Geologist will be responsible for collecting and analyzing geological samples, preparing detailed reports, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure accurate and thorough evaluation of geological formations. While the role does not involve managing a team, the candidate must demonstrate strong independent working capabilities, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex data. The candidate will also maintain strict compliance with safety and environmental regulations during field operations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct geological mapping and petrological analysis to interpret subsurface geology and mineral composition.
- Perform geophysical surveys including seismic data acquisition and interpretation to assess geological structures.
- Utilize remote sensing techniques and GIS software (such as ArcGIS) to analyze satellite imagery and spatial data.
- Collect and document field data meticulously, including rock and soil sampling using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Operate specialized geological instruments including X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), electron microprobe analyzers, ground penetrating radar (GPR), and electrical resistivity tomography (ERT).
- Interpret seismic data sets, including 2D and 3D seismic surveys and seismic facies analysis, to model subsurface formations.
- Analyze remote sensing data and satellite images to detect geological anomalies and map geological features.
- Provide technical reports and presentations that clearly communicate findings to project teams and stakeholders.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and environmental guidelines while working at project sites.
- Coordinate with engineers, environmental scientists, and other professionals to integrate geological data into overall project planning.
- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot field geology instruments and equipment in accordance with operational standards.
- Stay updated on technological advancements and industry best practices related to geological and geophysical methods.
