The Senior Systems Engineer’s role is to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the inhouse information systems that support core organizational functions.This role involves monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all networked software and associated operating systems. The Senior Systems Engineer will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments. This individual will also mentor and provide guidance to the Systems Engineer staff.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with network staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
- Work with executive team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues.
- Linux server administration (Ubuntu, Debian & CentOS)
- Hands on experience with MySQL administration
- Java application deployment and monitoring
- Apache/Tomcat configuration and security
- Writing shell scripts for deploying & managing services, advanced reporting and alarms
- Configure & optimize LAMP servers
- Perform daily/weekly system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key service processes
- Reviewing system and application logs for daily, weekly and monthly reporting
- Develop and maintain service deployment, maintenance and monitoring
- Ensure Linux server security
- Ensure backups and data replication
- Knowledge of IVR services & Asterisk server administration
- Kannel configuration and setup
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
