Construction Cost Estimator

Eden construction is a leading construction company in New York, United States. We are at Eden dealing as sidewalk contractors, roof repair and other construction related contractors in private and public sectors around the state. Few months back, we just established a back end office in Lahore, Pakistan and now hiring an ideal candidate as an Estimator who will work closely with our engineers working on construction sites and administrators running jobs on various location where as Estimator will work sitting in Lahore based office.

Candidate must have following skills and expertise.

Excellent communication, organizational and relationship building skills (Must be fluent in english)
Minimum 2 years of experience in construction and contracting industry of U.S
Ability to read construction blueprints and then make estimation
Solid conceptual estimating experience
Team player
Strong attention to detail

Preferred Skills

Bachelor or Masters in Engineering education
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Estimating Softwares.
Understanding of construction and construction means and methods

Responsibilities for the qualified candidate include, but are not limited to:

Prepare scope of work for all trades and forward to potential subcontractors to receive their proposals
Analyze and prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, architect plans, specs, requirements and related construction documents and send out for pricing
Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
Maintain cost databases by entering and backing up data
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Communicate with field personnel and suppliers as needed.
Prepare big proposals for presentation to Client with detailed Exclusions and Clarifications
Researching unit price requirements and preparing estimates using appropriate unit price, labor productivity and equipment rates
Preparing a cost estimate report deliverables to clients.
Assist in receiving and evaluating subcontractor and major material quotations.
Researching unit price requirements and preparing estimates using appropriate unit price, labor productivity and equipment rates
Advise and assist in recognizing risk on projects being bid. Review and coordinate final pricing methodology. Work as lead estimator on individual projects including takeoffs, sub-solicitations, pricing, bid summaries, GC’s and final bid day preparations.
Take responsibility for review of project bid’s accuracy and communication of construction techniques and strategies used in bid preparation on successful bids with Project Management prior to project commencement.
Determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized lists. Compute cost factors and prepare estimates used for planning, organizing, and scheduling work; preparing bids; selecting vendors or subcontractors; and determining cost effectiveness.
Analyze completed projects to compare estimated costs to actual costs and determine the reason for any discrepancies. Provide improvement recommendations to cost estimating procedures to reduce future discrepancies between estimated and actual costs. Identify cost trends to assist management in cost reduction and process improvement efforts.
