Responsible for the ongoing management, administration and support of existing custom applications including day-to-day operations of and the analysis, design, implementation and testing of minor enhancements to previously developed systems in PHP
Under the guidance of Technology Manager, provide necessary technical expertise to support the day to day administrative tasks of the developments in linux systems & focus on improving the stability and performance of the system, maintaining and improving the security posture of the systems, continuous monitoring of system health, and troubleshooting issues that arise.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Development experience with Core PHP in building large-scale systems.
- Strong concepts in OOP and design patterns.
- Expert knowledge of Opensource platforms such as Wordpress, Joomla, Moodle, E-commerce, Opensource CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and CMS (Content Management) Systems and frameworks like Laravel & Codeignitor.
- Familiarity with web-based technologies, including but not limited to, reverse proxy servers, three-tier architecture, service oriented architecture, http, apache & ip-tables.
- Deliver across the entire app life cycle – concept, design, build, deploy, test and deployment on production.
- Databases: MySQL, SQLite
Education & Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
- 2-3 years of PHP programming & system administration experience in Linux environments. Proficient in tasks such as shell scripting, creating cron jobs, analyzing log files, managing user accounts and groups, configuring iptables, and setting up backup services and database syncs.
- Strong hands on programming experience using open source technologies. PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, CSS, Open Source CMS.
- Strong programming background especially in data structures, algorithms and design patterns.
