Job Role: As a “Senior Software Engineer’’, you will:
- Develop solutions using primarily ROR along with NodeJS, Python or similar.
- Continually seek and implement best practices and code standards.
- Assists with technology roadmaps to balance strategic direction, business requirements as well as resourcing and financial issues.
- Assists with technological plans and innovation to enhance current systems and support corporate and business goals.
- Evaluate emerging technologies against business and IT strategic needs.
- Update architecture standards and guidelines.
- Review the feasibility of new and existing IT projects and help create solutions to implement these projects.
- Collaborates with engineering, development and product teams to understand and develop technology solutions
- Engages in high severity production incidents and problem tickets in support of redesign requirements.
- Work with UX/UI and graphic designers to translate wireframes and image comps into digital solutions.
- Code and maintain websites and web-based, desktop and mobile software applications.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the network to identify opportunities and educate on our technology solutions.
Education and Experience:
- Relevant Master’s or Bachelor’s degree; and work experience at similar position for 3+ years.
- Hands on experience of Front-end technologies: ReactJS, EmberJS, AngularJS or Scala (at least one of the given language)
- Strong understanding of object-oriented, component-oriented and service-oriented design methodologies and practices.
- Experience using frameworks for developing websites or applications.
- The ability to work within functional design and development requirements.
Skill Set:
- A meticulous eye for detail and an unwavering ability to execute those details to the highest quality possible.
- Must be deadline oriented, delivery and execution capable, able to identify risks and quickly resolve issues and influence outcomes across multiple organizations, platforms and stakeholders.
- Very strong communication skills and ability to influence decision makers and must be proficient in English. Must be able to work independently in addition to working in teams.
- Broad range of experience with knowledge of different software development methodologies, tools and techniques – particularly Agile-based approaches.
- Able to think abstractly and reduce complex issues and/or solutions to simplified, actionable tasks. Able to influence and drive outcomes, working at all levels of engagement - from stakeholder influence and early concept phases to detailed technical delivery and oversight in design and implementation phases.
