Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Configuration Management team who can work independently, and in coordination with the team to enhance the existing build & regression frameworks and processes for EDB products and can also learn the new skills as needed to get the job done.
Job Responsibilities
Maintain RPM, DEB and other types of packages for database server and other C/C++, Java and Python based products
Setup jobs on Jenkins (normal and pipeline)
Monitor builds and regression runs, fix issues or working with developers to fix issues as required
Contribute to the enhancement and maintenance of the build framework that extensively uses shell scripting and dockers
Undertake other related tasks as required
Technical Skills
Experience with build management (C/C++, Java) on Unix and Windows
Good hands on experience on Linux and Proficient in shell scripting, sed, awk etc.
Good knowledge of compilers and build tools on various flavours of Linux (GCC/LLVM, Make) and/or on Windows (MSVC++, msbuild)
Exposure to Git version control and the command line tools
Experience with common CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
Experience in building packages using technologies such as RPM, MSI, DEB or Installers, preferably RPM packaging (rpmbuild, spec)
Experience with Docker containers is a plus
Experience writing/maintaining Makefiles is an advantage
Knowledge of OpenStack is an advantage.
