Epicure is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our healthcare administration team. The Medical Biller is responsible for accurately processing and submitting medical claims, verifying insurance information, and maintaining patient billing records using specialized medical billing software. The Medical Biller plays a vital role in maintaining the financial health of Epicure by ensuring accuracy in patient billing and effective claims processing. Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical diagnoses and procedures using recognized medical coding systems to ensure proper billing.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to processing claims to avoid denials and delays.
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies and payers promptly following service delivery.
- Review and resolve claim rejections and denials by communicating with insurers and healthcare providers as needed.
- Maintain patient billing records and update billing software databases with relevant data entry tasks.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to reconcile billing discrepancies and resolve payment issues.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare laws, regulations, and company policies related to medical billing practices.
- Provide clear and professional communication with patients regarding billing inquiries and payment options.
- Use billing software proficiently to process claims, generate invoices, and track accounts receivable.
- Regularly review billing procedures and suggest improvements to maximize efficiency and accuracy.
