The incumbent will be responsible for researching tax issues, report writing, interpretation of relevant laws and assisting/guiding junior staff. The candidate must be proficient in communication skills (drafting and spoken).

 Duties and Responsibilities

 Specifically, the incumbent holding this position will be responsible for:

  • Advising clients in respect of Direct (and at times Indirect) Taxation Laws, and other matters in the light of relevant statute, case laws, and industry practices.

  • Independently taking care of the clients and advisory.

  • Providing the clients with timely and accurate guidance on critical taxation issues.

  • Ensuring timely compliance of statutory deadlines for filings and / or payments by the clients.

  • Representing EY to clients in meetings.

  • Representing clients in meetings with tax and other relevant government officials.

Requirements

Experience

2-3 years of relevant experience.

Qualification

ACCA/ LLB would be preferred. Candidates possessing both the qualifications will be given an added advantage. Experienced individuals with other qualifications, such as MBA, ICMA etc., are also encouraged to apply.

Skills

  • Proficiency in English is a MUST (spoken and written)

  • Good grasp on the Law and interpretational skill with regards to the Ordinance.

  • Research and analytical skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Office

  • Time Management.

  • Willingness to assume additional responsibility

  • Ability to take initiative.

  • Ability to work under pressure.
