1.0 Main Purpose:

The role sits in the Chief Technical Officer, which provides software solutions to different Customers.The successful candidate will lead a group of skilled software engineers in order to analyze and find solutions for a wide range of software development areas. They will also be responsible for defining the software infrastructure (database design, programming languages, etc.) that will constitute the foundations of software development.

2.0 Core Tasks:

1. Develops Software Solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, studying systems flow, data usage and work processes, investigating problem areas.

2. Determines Operational Feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development and proposed solutions.

3. Documents and Demonstrates Solutions by Developing Documentation, Flow Charts, Layouts, Diagrams,Charts, Code Comments and clear code.

4. Day-to-day management of the Software Department.

5. Definition of software infrastructure and architecture.

6. Ensure the full execution of the Software Development Life Cycle. SDLC

7. Design and development of intra-departmental communication tools.

8. Supports and Develop Software Engineers by Providing advice, coaching, and educational opportunities

9. Update job-knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques and computing equipment and also maintaining professional networks.

10. Helping in debugging the code and Ensure that the Software Solution that has been developed is in accordance with the Software Requirements and Specifications.

3.0 Measures of Success:

1. Quality of the software developed.

2. Ability to understand the requirements and to proactively propose software solutions.

3. Quality of the development planning in order to adhere to the tight deadlines of the business.

4. Ability to motivate the department and extract the maximum potential from its members.

4.0 Key Relationships:

  1. The successful candidate will need to interact daily with the major clients and often with higher management as well as frequent interactions with the Software Engineers.
  2. Good communication with the developers and with the managers of the customer departments will be key to this role.
