Ocean Mall & Tower is looking for a committed Fire & Safety Assistant to help maintain a safe and secure environment for all visitors, tenants, and staff. The role focuses on supporting fire safety operations, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, and assisting with emergency preparedness within the facility. This position requires vigilance, teamwork, and a proactive approach to safety management in a busy commercial setting.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the regular inspection, maintenance, and testing of fire safety equipment, including fire alarm systems, smoke detectors, sprinklers, hydrants, and fire extinguishers. Support the planning and execution of fire drills, evacuation procedures, and emergency response activities to ensure readiness at all times. Monitor compliance with fire safety regulations and promptly report any violations or potential hazards to maintain a safe environment. Maintain accurate daily safety logs and incident reports to document all safety-related activities and occurrences. Ensure that emergency exits and firefighting equipment remain accessible and in proper working order. Collaborate with other departments to address safety concerns and improve overall fire safety measures within the facility.
Required Qualifications
Candidates should have at least an intermediate education level, with a Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) in Mechanical or Electrical disciplines preferred. Certification as a Fireman or Leading Fireman, or completion of a Civil Defence course, is essential. Applicants must have 1 to 2 years of experience in fire safety roles, preferably within commercial or industrial environments. Familiarity with fire alarm panels, firefighting systems, and emergency response protocols is required. The role demands physical fitness, alertness, and a willingness to work in shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
Job Details
This is a full-time position based on-site at Ocean Mall & Tower. The salary range offered is Rs37,000 to Rs40,000 per month. The role provides an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on safety and emergency preparedness.
