Five Star is seeking vigilant and reliable Security Guards to ensure the safety and security of its premises and personnel. The ideal candidates possess strong skills in surveillance monitoring, access control, and emergency response. They demonstrate the ability to manage conflicts effectively using de-escalation techniques and crisis management protocols. Security Guards play a critical role in patrolling designated areas, identifying potential security hazards, and responding promptly to incidents while maintaining clear and accurate report writing. This position requires individuals who have completed a matric pass and can read and write effectively with at least one year of experience in a security role. Candidates for this role do not manage a team but work independently or collaboratively with other security personnel to uphold safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Monitor surveillance equipment continuously to detect suspicious activities and enforce security policies.
- Control access to company property by verifying identification and authorizing entry for employees, visitors, and contractors.
- Conduct regular patrols around the premises to ensure all areas remain secure and to identify any vulnerabilities or security breaches.
- Respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies, including fire alarms, medical incidents, and security threats, following established protocols.
- Employ conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques to manage and defuse potentially volatile situations safely.
- Prepare detailed and accurate reports on daily activities, security incidents, and observations to provide clear records for management review.
- Coordinate with emergency services and law enforcement as needed during critical incidents to support crisis management efforts.
- Maintain a professional and vigilant presence to deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorized activities on company property.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and legal requirements related to health and safety and security operations.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to stay updated on security practices and emergency response techniques.
