A Reputable company requires the services of a supply chain Manager. MBA with specialization in supply chain management from a reputable institution (LUMS- IBA & LSE).
Minimum three years post MBA experience. Experience of OMC/ Coal/ Furnace oil will be preferred. Experience of Import of Products and common Bank LC clauses. Market compatible salary and emoluments will be offered to the suitable candidate.
Job Description
1) Review or update supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws.
2) Select transportation routes to maximize economy by combining shipments or consolidating warehousing and distribution.
3) Diagram supply chain models to help facilitate discussions with customers.
4) Develop material costs forecasts or standard cost lists.
5) Assess appropriate material handling equipment needs and staffing levels to load, unload, move, or store materials.
6) Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, or freight forwarders.
7) Monitor supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.
8) Monitor forecasts and quotas to identify changes or to determine their effect on supply chain activities.
9) Implement new or improved supply chain processes.
10) Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, engineering, and quality assurance, to identify or qualify new suppliers.
11) Develop or implement procedures or systems to evaluate or select suppliers.
12) Analyze information about supplier performance or procurement program success.
13) Document physical supply chain processes, such as workflows, cycle times, position responsibilities, or system flows.
14) Confer with supply chain planners to forecast demand or create supply plans that ensure availability of materials or products.
15) Define performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of supply chain factors, such as product cost or quality.
16 Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, or optimize customer service.
17) Manage activities related to strategic or tactical purchasing, material requirements planning, inventory control, warehousing, or receiving.
18) Develop procedures for coordination of supply chain management with other functional areas, such as sales, marketing, finance, production, or quality assurance.
19) Design or implement supply chains that support business strategies adapted to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies.
20) Design, implement, or oversee product take back or reverse logistics programs to ensure products are recycled, reused, or responsibly disposed.
21) Evaluate and select information or other technology solutions to improve tracking and reporting of materials or products distribution, storage, or inventory.
The job is not only about logistics and purchasing inventory. Supply chain managers, “make recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations. A supply chain manager can also oversee operations such as by managing processes for shipping and warehousing.
