Job Description

A.   Purpose of Job:

1.     Ensure project progress and smooth client interaction

2.     Take full responsibility of project activities and deliverables.

B.   Main Responsibilities:

1.     Prepare the project management plan

2.     Manage and monitor the project, staffing plans, budgets, and minutes of meetings.

3.     Plan and supervise project activities

4.     Define and manage project scope

5.     Resolve conflict between team members and departments like QA and Dev.

6.     Resolve routine project issues during project execution

7.     Review key project artifacts and documents

8.     Manage project teams and resources

9.     Perform regular project communication with the client and management and report project progress

10.  Co-ordinate with Project Sponsor and project team

11.  Understand the scope of the effort in terms of requirements, man-hours or functionality points

12.  With the help of relevant leads, determine scope and evaluate risks

13.  With the help of the relevant leads, define project parameters, i.e., time-lines, manpower requirements, risks, estimates, etc.

14.  Negotiate, establish, coordinate and oversee the projects deliverables

15.  Work closely with the smart sourcing department

16.  Identify internal and external interfaces

17.  Plan logistics, such as hardware, software, manpower, training, travel plans, etc.

18.  Act as the ”client” for the local project team

19.  Provide update (emails, phone, video calls) to the clients on a regular basis – especially all key stake holders

C.   Authorities 1.     Authorities that are required to fulfill this job effectively

D.   Minimum Skills Required:

1.     Academic Qualification(s):

i.        BS in computer sciences or related field (Preferably from North America or Europe)

ii.        Professional courses in management (PMP / PgMP / Prince 2 / Six Sigma)

iii.        Professional courses in project lifecycles, organization, integration management, scope management, time management, cost management, quality management, human resource management, communications management, risk management, procurement management, earned value management, and configuration management.

  2. Must have excellent communication skills,
  3. Must have excellent analytical and decision making skills
  4. Knowledge of development tools/platforms
  5. Structural knowledge of projects
  6. Proactive and goal-oriented: Must posses the drive to build something tangible and complete.
  7.  Excellent communication skills: In order to carry the vision to the development team and the client, must be capable of doing a lot of preaching, convincing, mentoring, and teaching.

Sound presentation skills

  1. Well versed in the notations and process of object oriented development
  2. Be able to make engineering compromise necessary to cope with building systems for the real world
  3. Risk-aversive: Be on the lookout for and identify anything that adds risk to the project

3.     Management / Interpersonal Skills:

Leadership skills: Must have the focus, confidence, charisma, and authority to drive the project

  1.  Politically sensitive: Must understand that different groups have different and at times hidden agendas. Must be able to set expectations and manage conflict.
  2. Must be a good team player
  3. Must have drive to continuously improve upon his skill set and help others.

4.     Experience:

Must have at least 6 years of experience in the project management field

5.     Trainings (For internal promotion):

 Must have received

1.     One leadership training

2.     One communications training

3.     One project management training

4.     Two cross functional trainings in key areas

 Must have conducted

1.     One leadership training

2.     One communications training

3.     One project management training

4.     Five cross functional trainings in key areas


E.   Key Performance Indicators

1.     Team work organization, planning and documentation.

a.     Team time management

b.    Task quantification and queue management

c.     Work documentation, record keeping and relevant reports (DARs, progress reports and issues log)

d.    Multi tasking / multi project assignments.

2.     Team management and ability to lead team to success in projects.

a.     Time required for team to complete a specific unit of work.

b.    Quality of work completed by team (Bugs found in a specific unit of work).

c.     Customer satisfaction with team deliverables.

3.     Project profitability

4.     Skill set improvement

a.     Management and leadership

b.    Development tools and platforms

c.     Cross functional tools and platforms

F.    Visa Status

·         Must have a valid Passport and valid Visa

·         Must be willing to travel upon requirement
