The Planning Engineer at FWO plays a critical role in overseeing and managing the planning and scheduling activities for construction projects. This position involves developing detailed project schedules, allocating resources efficiently, and controlling costs to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. The Planning Engineer works closely with project managers and stakeholders to monitor progress, generate reports, and optimize schedules to improve productivity and project delivery. With a required experience of five years, the Planning Engineer must have a strong understanding of construction planning principles and scheduling software, including Primavera P6 and MS Project. This role demands analytical skills to evaluate project timelines, manage changes effectively, and identify potential risks that may impact the schedule. Although this position does not include managing a team, collaboration and communication skills are essential to coordinate with different departments and ensure alignment with project objectives.
Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and MS Project to reflect project progress and forecast future activities.
  • Allocate resources effectively to ensure optimal utilization and avoid delays or cost overruns.
  • Monitor and control project costs by evaluating planned versus actual expenditures and identifying potential financial risks.
  • Prepare and present regular progress reports to project managers and stakeholders to keep them informed about the status of project timelines and milestones.
  • Coordinate with construction teams to gather accurate data on work progress and integrate this information into project schedules.
  • Identify schedule variances and delays, analyze their impact, and recommend corrective actions to bring projects back on track.
  • Optimize project schedules by assessing the feasibility of proposed plans, adjusting workflows, and implementing improvements to achieve enhanced efficiency.
  • Support risk management by identifying potential scheduling risks and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including procurement, engineering, and site management, to align project timelines and resources.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, industry regulations, and best practices in project planning and scheduling.
