G4S Digital Solutions is seeking a dedicated Female Electrical Estimating Intern to join our team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or individuals early in their careers to gain hands-on experience in electrical project estimation. The intern will focus on accurately interpreting blueprints and construction documents, applying electrical codes and standards, and assisting with cost estimation and budgeting processes. While the role does not involve managing a team, the candidate will work closely with engineers and project managers to develop detailed electrical cost estimates that support successful project planning and execution. The ideal candidate holds a degree in BSc Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification and is eager to grow knowledge in electrical estimating within the construction industry. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel are essential to effectively assist in evaluating materials, labor, and time requirements. Excellent communication and reporting abilities will help the intern present findings clearly and contribute to the smooth delivery of projects under G4S Digital Solutions' high standards.
Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze electrical blueprints, drawings, and construction documents to understand project scope and specifications.
  • Apply knowledge of electrical codes and standards to ensure compliant and accurate estimates.
  • Assist in preparing detailed electrical cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
  • Use Microsoft Excel and other software tools for data organization, calculation, and reporting of estimates.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and project management teams to gather necessary information for estimation tasks.
  • Support the evaluation of project timelines and resource requirements to align budgeting with scheduling.
  • Document estimation processes, assumptions, and findings clearly for reference and reporting purposes.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to address questions and update on estimation progress.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, materials pricing trends, and best practices in electrical estimating.
  • Assist with any additional tasks related to electrical estimating and project support as assigned by supervisors.
