To work closely with clients and users in order to make sure that Project designs match their needs and are functiona, safe and economical.
Core Responsibilities & Duties:
- To design and develop projects assigned.
- To discuss the objectives, requirements and budget of a project.
- To prepare and present feasibility reports.
- To determine the materials to be used and specify the requirements for the project.
- To design proposals for the clients.
- To use IT in design and project management, specifically using computer-aided design software like AutoCAD, Photoshop, and Sketch up Studio 3D Mix etc.
- To keep within financial budgets and deadlines.
- To produce detailed working drawings and specifications.
- To specify the nature and quality of materials required.
- To prepare tender applications and presentations.
- To prepare tender documents for contracts.
- To manage projects and help to coordinate the work with contractors.
- To control a project from start to finish.
- To visit site to check on progress, ensuring that the project is running on time and to budget.
- To resolve problems and issues that arises during construction.
Skills Required:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- High levels of creativity, imagination and vision.
- A keen interest in the built environment and the dedication to see projects to their conclusion.
- Willingness to work long hours, under time and budget pressure.
- Excellent design and drafting skills and proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD).
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Organizational, project management and planning skills, including the ability to juggle multiple tasks.
- An analytical mind with excellent problem-solving ability.
