Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Be proactive for the inclusivity of team happenings and can reason and question about it.
  • Takes ownership of the teams' execution plan particularly the tasks assigned to them including the understanding of the bigger picture. (Example: In sprint planning if anything changes having an impact on the task he is currently engaged in, he should raise the concern)
  • Understand that you are in growing stage in a team and hence your actions might not be that mature, taking input from senior members might not hurt before execution and we expect you to do that
  • Gel along with team members come up with reasonable solutions to the problems; and be responsible about the consequences 
  • Sometimes, this requires being the eyes and ears for the senior members in the team and covering their blind spots.
  • Agility is our choice of process and we would like everyone to adopt it. So as a part of team we expecting from you to must practice it.
  • Perform coding and debugging applications where must ensure adherence to standards and best practices (e.g. source code control, code reviews etc.)
  • Time is a scarce resource, make sure the commitments are met on a timely basis. If something doesn't feel like it is doable, strike a conversation, with your Lead/Manager to help you out. A hands-on person, ready to take the challenge for the need of time

Education level.

  • Relevant BS degree (e.g Computer Science or Engineering) or equivalent with programming experience

Experience.

  • A hands-on person, ready to take the challenge for the need of time; Been there done that at least 5 years or more. 
  • Knowledge of software and system architectures; Design patterns knowledge is highly appreciated. And the least bit, as we know change is the only constant in this world, having a nag of writing clean software is a must.
  • MVP/MVC/MVVM Design Pattern knowledge is a must
  • Experience of working with Kotlin and Java is preferred
  • Ability to explore and extend the third part frameworks. 

Specific skills.

  • As our product is living with us for over a decade, we have seen the shift from object paradigm to functional paradigm; hence you must be equipped with the same.
  • Our day in and day out is on Windows, hence its knowledge is required.
  • For the tools, we think you must know Kotlin, Java. 
  • Should have the ability to debug code
  • Our work culture is pretty much Agile -- knowing how agility works would be a definite help.

Characteristics of a team member at Gaditek

  • A reasonable person, with an ability to transfer their knowledge to another person, in layman’s terms. Good language skills (English, Urdu, or any other) would add the cherry on top of it.
