What you will be doing:
Designing and developing scalable and reliable backend systems: You will be responsible creating high-level architecture, defining data models, and selecting appropriate technologies and tools to ensure that the backend systems can handle high volumes of traffic and data.
Ensuring security and performance: You will be responsible for ensuring that the backend systems are secure, performant, and able to handle the demands of the business. This involves implementing security measures such as encryption, authentication, and authorization, as well as regularly monitoring and optimizing the performance of the systems.
Overseeing development and implementation: You will work closely with the development team to ensure that the backend systems are developed and deployed effectively and efficiently. This includes reviewing code, providing guidance and support to the team, and ensuring that best practices and standards are followed.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams: You will collaborate with other teams, including front-end developers, DevOps engineers, and product managers, to ensure that the backend systems are integrated effectively with other parts of the application.
Staying up-to-date with industry trends and technologies: You must keep abreast of the latest developments in their field and continuously evaluate new technologies and tools that could improve the backend systems.
Mentoring and coaching junior team members: You will be responsible for mentoring and coaching junior team members, helping them to grow their skills and advance their careers.
Managing projects and budgets: You will be responsible for managing projects, tracking budgets, and ensuring that the backend systems are delivered on time and within budget.
What you need for this role:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in backend software development and architecture
- Strong knowledge of server-side programming languages such as Java, Python, Ruby, or PHP
- Experience with database management systems such as MySQL, MongoDB, Oracle,
- Knowledge of microservice architecture, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure
- Proficiency in design patterns and architectural styles such as MVC, event-driven architecture, or microservices
- Knowledge of continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) practices and tools
- Understanding of security principles and experience with implementing security measures such as encryption, authentication, and authorization
- Ability to analyze performance and scalability issues and optimize the performance of backend systems
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies
