General Manager - Institutions

The Institutions department is custodian of organization’s core values and ensures that these values are embedded into and implemented by all our operations. It works to support the cascade of community institutions set up by the organization and work to strengthen them and build social capital from the grassroots up. The incumbent will be responsible to provide leadership to the Institutions department by overseeing the designing and implementation of programs for social mobilization, community participation, innovative approaches in coordination with Partner Organizations and all stakeholders. The person will be required to carry out strategic visioning of the department including strategic & operational planning, contracts & budgets for the programs, projects and components. Facilitate third party studies & evaluations, appraisal, supervision, review and monitoring of partners’ portfolio, output and outcome monitoring. He/she has to ensure compliance of organization’s policies, procedures & work plans, performance-based assessments, oversight, setting and delivery of annual departmental targets. Assess capacity building proposals of NGOs for funding. Design and deliver training material on peace and conflict negotiation and gender. Carry out networking and liaison with current and prospective stakeholders. Prepare annual and quarterly work plan of the department in addition to long term strategic planning and ensure compliance with the work plan. The incumbent will also be responsible for managing compliance with the social and environmental aspects of the project proposals of partner organizations.

The ideal candidate must possess Master’s degree or equivalent qualification preferably in Social Sciences, Economics, International Development or other relevant discipline from a top ranking HEC recognized national or international university. The person will have at least 10 years’ relevant work experience in social mobilization / institutional development of large scale donor-funded development projects, in a national/international development sector organization of which 5 years in the senior role. Should have demonstrated ability to design programs for community participation. Possess experience in Funds management and quality control of partners’ performance; Institutional assessment skills. Team player with collaborative management style along with excellent leadership, coaching and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage professional relationships efficiently and effectively. Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills. Proficient in MS Office Suite (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint). Willing to extensively travel in the field across Pakistan.
