Job Description:
•Prepare flavoured food products for customer projects, presentations and/or research projects
•Select optimal flavours for projects according to specified requirements (i.e., customer, regulatory, legislation, cost)
•Participate in evaluations of flavours in food applications for briefs, research projects and portfolio evaluations
•Manage flavour data and recipe documentation for food products
•Actively maintain the flavour performance data for the flavour portfolio through evaluation in fin-ished product and capture of profiles•Assist in tasting sessions and presentations to customers/visitors•Maintain a safe, clean and organized lab environment in accordance with EH&S policies
Skills and Qualifications required:
Qualifications:
•Polytechnic or B.S. in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology and 2 - 3 years experience in a food applications lab, production, or related area (preferred)
•Masters Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, and 0-1 years experience in a food applications lab, production, or related area (preferred)
Technical Skills:
•Understanding of most food ingredients when used in application
•Understanding of multiple Givaudan food applications processes
•Knowledge of most of our customers’ products and their production processes
•Thorough understanding of financial aspects of flavor selection (cost-in- use, margins, etc.)
•Demonstrates tasting skills and is able to effectively describe the flavour profile of the product and provide direction to flavourists for flavour modifications
•Basic understanding of the most common flavour reactions/interactions in common food prod-ucts
•A basic understanding of project management
NOTE:
Application Technologists are specialists whose primary goal is to guide Flavourists in the flavour development process. To do so, Application Technologists analyze current flavour trends, forecast future trends and assess consumer preferences.
As an Application Technologist – Beverages, based in Pakistan you will be a key player in our regional flavour application team, reporting directly to the Commercial Director, Pakistan. You will mainly be responsible for evaluating flavours in food applications and selecting the optimal flavours for customer projects.
