Package

3 Year contract (renewable)

Single contract for unmarried candidates, while Family contract offered for married candidates.

Tax free Basic monthly salary offered according to experience.

The Basic Monthly Salary range from 17600 up to 32535 QR per month.  32535 QR is +/- 11200 CAD / 7230 EUR / 8930 USD / 4620 GBP / 106000 ZAR / 573000 INR / 21300 TND / 33000 AUD

NOTE: Salary paid in Qatari Riyals (QR). Mentioned above is ONLY the Basic Salary and NOT the total monthly salary amount. Additional/on top of the basic salary the following allowances and benefits forms part of the total monthly salary package.

Market allowance of up to 50% of the basic salary may be offered. (Depending on criticality of the skill).

Transport allowance of 1250 QAR per month added to your basic salary.

School allowance: 21 000 QAR (maximum) for up to 3 children (ages 5- 18) PER child per academic year provided that they are studying in private schools in Doha.

End of Service Award (at end of contract) which is one month's salary for each year worked.

Free fully furnished accommodation provided OR housing allowance (choice of applicant).

Free "round trip" (to and from home country) economy class flight tickets on joining, annual leave, and on repatriation. For those with family contract offered this will be also be applicable for your family (wife and up to 3 children up to 18 years old).

50 days paid annual vacation days.

Eligibility Criteria for CONSULTANT Physicians:

Algeria - Arab Board (Tier 2) Algeria - Algerian Medical Board: Specialist Certification by the Algerian Ministry of Higher Education AND Sub Speciality Fellowship. Experience Required: Must be in current Consultant post AND have min 10 Years’ experience post specialist qualification OR be in current Associate Consultant post for min 2 Years.

Arab Board of Health Specializations: Certificate of Arab Board of Medical Specialization AND Sub Speciality Fellowship.   Experience Required: Must be in current Consultant post AND have min 10 Years’ experience post specialist qualification OR be in current Associate Consultant post for min 2 Years.

Australia & New Zealand: Fellow of the Royal Australia and New Zealand Colleges. Experience Required: Min 6 Months experience after Fellowship.

Canada - RCPS-C Certified as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Experience Required: Min 1 Year after Specialist qualification.

Egypt - Residency Program accredited by Egyptian Faculty of Medicine: MSc AND MD AND Sub Speciality Fellowship. Experience Required: Must be in current Consultant post AND have min 10 Years’ experience post specialist qualification OR be in current Associate Consultant post for min 2 Years.

France: AFSA AND CES / DES / DIS Experience Required: Min 2 Years after Specialist Qualification.

Germany: Facharzt. Experience Required: Min 2 Years after Specialist Qualification.

India - Postgraduate Medical Degree (MD or MCh) approved by Medical Council of India (MCI): MD or MCh AND DM or DNB AND Sub Speciality Fellowship. Experience Required: Must be in current Consultant post AND have min 10 Years’ experience post specialist qualification OR be in current Associate Consultant post for min 2 Years.

Iraq - Iraqi Board of Medical Specialization: Fellowship of the Iraqi Commission of Medical Specialization AND Sub Speciality Fellowship. Experience Required: Must be in current Consultant post AND have min 10 Years’ experience post specialist qualification OR be in current Associate Consultant post for min 2 Years.

Italy: Diploma of Specialized doctor granted by Italian university. Experience Required: Min 2 Years after Specialist Qualification.

Ireland: CSD or CCST AND MRCP or FRCP Experience Required: Min 6 Months experience after CSD or CCST.

Jordan - Jordanian Medical Council Accredited Training Program: Jordanian Board by the Jordanian Medical Council AND Sub Speciality Fellowship. Experience Required: Must be in current Consultant post AND have min 10 Years’ experience post specialist qualification OR be in current Associate Consultant post for min 2 Years.

KSA - Saudi Council for Health Specialties: Specialist Certification by Saudi Council AND Sub Speciality Fellowship. Experience Required: Must be in current Consultant post AND have min 10 Years’ experience post specialist qualification OR be in current Associate Consultant post for min 2 Years.

Morocco - Moroccan Medical Board: Specialist Certification by the Moroccan Nation Physicians Authority AND Sub Speciality Fellowship. Pakistan - Pakistan Medical & Dental Council Accredited Residency Program: FCPS - Fellowship of College of Physician & Surgeons of Pakistan AND Sub Speciality Fellowship. Experience Required: Must be in current Consultant post AND have min 10 Years’ experience post specialist qualification OR be in current Associate Consultant post for min 2 Years.

Sudan - Medical Specialization Board: Clinical MD by Sudan Council of Postgraduate Studies AND Sub Speciality Fellowship. South Africa - Masters of Medicine (M.Med) Degree OR Fellowship Certificate approved by the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa (CMSA) Experience Required: Min 1 Year after Specialist Qualification.

Spain: Titulo de Especialista Experience Required: Min 2 Years after Specialist Qualification.

Syria - Syrian Medical Specialization: Specialist Certification by the Syrian Ministry of Health AND Sub Speciality Fellowship. Sweden: Bevis om Specialistcompetens Experience Required: Min 2 Years after Specialist Qualification.

U.S.A - ACGME Residency / Fellowship Program: Certified by American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). Experience Required: Min 1 Year after Specialist qualification.

U.K: CCT AND MRCP or FRCP. Experience Required: Min 6 Months experience after CCT.

Australia & New Zealand: Fellow of the Royal Australia and New Zealand Colleges. Experience Required: Min 6 Months experience after Fellowship.

 LICENSE:

Valid Primary License AND should be eligible for license in the State of Qatar within the Supreme Council of Health.

Job Specification

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Consultant is a senior doctor who practices in a specific specialty and has oversight responsibility for his team of junior doctors and manages other team members. The Consultant should be able to take a comprehensive view of the care pathway. The Consultant accepts ultimate responsibility for the care of all patients admitted under his name. The Consultant is capable of independently providing high quality patient care (diagnose, treat, manage and admit patients under his name) as delineated by his cilinical privileges.

Ability to relate well to others and use interpersonal skills to achieve desired objectives, recognizing the need to represent both the clinical work and the team. The Consultant actively conributes to the teaching and training of students and junior doctors, and to the development of his specialty through leadership, academe and research.

Research is a key and integral component to the Corporations Strategic aim to become an Academic Health System. The post holder must be able to contribute on delivering an integrated strategic vision and planning for Clinical, Research, Education and training which improves the quality of patient care.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

The consultant is responsible for organizing, monitoring, and maintaining the clinical services provided within the department in order to achieve the highest possible level of patient care with optimum utilization of the available resources.

1. Adheres to policies, guidelines, plans and programs.

2. Performs all duties assigned to a consultant physician.

4. Assumes direct responsibility for the patients under his/her medical attendance in the assigned unit.

5. Conducts rounds and undertakes supervision of treatment of the inpatients as well as screening and examination of the outpatients.

6. Undertakes supervisory responsibility for the medical staff within the unit and prepares regular reports on the activities of the unit for the department head / chairman.

7. Participates in the various committees for the upgrading of services and organization of work within and outside the hospital.

8. Participates in the planning and implementation of the department development plans and the different manpower training programs for the medical, technical and nursing staff.

9. Participates in the planning and follow up of the medical education and research activities.

10. Performs all relevant interventions related to his/her field of specialization.

11. Participates in health education programs through orientation and scientific presentations.

12. Participates in scheduling of on-call duties and provides on-call services.

13. Participates in the assessment and updating of drug, medical supply and equipment needs.

14. Writes, completes and approves medical records and reports for patients.

15. Provides guidance and counsel to other departments when requested.

16. Completes and maintains his set of clinical privileges

17. Complies with Revalidation guidelines and standards

18. Acquires SCH License to practice and maintains it while working.

19. Performs other duties as assigned/directed by the chairperson / head of the department and approved by the Medical Director. 20. Ensure self and member of the Investigation Team are properly trained. 21. Compiles with the policies systems and processes in place that governs research.

22. Ensure patients are aware of their rights and responsibilities and access to research.
