Although team management is not part of this role, the designer plays a crucial collaborative role within Golden Shine’s product development process.
Responsibilities
- Research and analyze fashion trends relevant to Western markets to inform collection themes and designs.
- Create comprehensive mood boards that visually capture the inspiration and styling directions for seasonal collections.
- Produce detailed sketches using hand drawing or digital tools to represent apparel items including dresses, tops, and outerwear.
- Develop accurate and detailed technical packages (tech packs) including specifications, measurements, fabric choices, and construction details to guide production.
- Source and recommend appropriate fabrics, trims, and finishes that align with brand standards and collection requirements.
- Collaborate remotely with internal teams to ensure design concepts are feasible and align with brand identity.
- Prepare polished final presentations to showcase collections to buyers or production teams, ensuring clear communication of design intent.
- Revise and adapt designs based on constructive feedback and market demands while maintaining brand consistency.
- Utilize software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop proficiently to create and refine designs.
- Maintain organization and manage project timelines independently to meet scheduled deadlines in a remote working setup.
- Continuously update knowledge about garment construction, pattern drafting, sewing techniques, and textile properties to enhance design quality.
- Leverage material sourcing expertise to identify cost-effective and quality fabrics and materials for collection development.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, using English and/or Urdu, to liaise with colleagues and external partners.
- Optionally, integrate 3D design software such as CLO 3D to visualize garments and improve design accuracy.
