The Chief Accountant is responsible for leading the accounting department and ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the company's financial records. This includes developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures, managing the preparation of financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures that align with the overall business objectives
- Manage the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, such as GAAP and IFRS
- Manage the external audit process and ensure that all financial statements are accurate and timely
- Provide financial analysis and advice to management
- Oversee the budgeting and forecasting process
- Manage the tax compliance and filing process
- Ensure that all financial records are accurate and complete
- Provide guidance and support to other departments on all accounting-related matters
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in accounting and finance
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards and regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Experience in managing a team of accountants
- Experience in developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures
- Experience in managing the budgeting and forecasting process
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and accounting software
