1. The Role

We are seeking exceptional, talented individuals whom have a burning desire to succeed and excel overseas. Your role will be a Retail Store Manager based in the United Kingdom (UK). You will be required to undergo a 3 month training programme in Lahore, Pakistan alongside ongoing and final assessments.

We operate a chain of convenience stores in Scotland, UK. We are an award winning chain, having being crowned Independent Retail Chain of the Year at the Grocer Gold Awards 2018 and finalists again in 2019 and 2022 as well as numerous other awards such as Scottish Local Retailer of the Year.

 We continue to grow, build and innovate within existing stores primarily under our Greens brand throughout Scotland and are continually expanding into further sites.

2.  Requirements and Responsibilities

  • Complete store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results
  • Maintain store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees
  • Maintain store staff job results by coaching, counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring and appraising job results
  • Prepare annual budget; schedule expenditures; analyze variances; initiate corrective actions
  • Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements
  • Ensure availability of merchandise and services by approving contracts; maintaining inventories
  • Formulate pricing policies by reviewing merchandising activities; determining additional needed sales promotion; authorizing clearance sales; studying trends
  • Market merchandise by studying advertising, sales promotion and display plans; analyzing operating and financial statements for profitability ratios
  • Secure merchandise by implementing security systems and measures
  • Protect employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment
  • Maintain the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements
  • Determine marketing strategy changes by reviewing operating and financial statements and departmental sales records
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Maintain operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing program, operational and personnel policies and procedures
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Maintain inventory by implementing purchasing plans and staying in contact with vendors and shippers
  • Develop a schedule of holiday activities and promotions throughout the year strategically designed to bring in more revenue
  • Provide training to improve the knowledge base of the staff and utilize crosstraining methods to maintain productivity when employees are absent
  • Work with vendors and manufacturers to bring in effective marketing displays for the sales floor and store windows
  • Manage all controllable costs to keep operations profitable
  • Manage stock levels and make key decisions about stock control
  • Analyze sales figures and forecast future sales
  • Analyze and interpret trends to facilitate planning
  • Deal with staffing issues such as interviewing potential staff, conducting appraisals and performance reviews, as well as providing or organizing training and development
  • Ensure standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met
  • Be passionate about retail management and have a burning desire to excel and succeed
  • Showcase exceptional interpersonal skills, have leadership traits and have a commercial mindset
  • Have the ability to relocate overseas and settle abroad
  • Hold at least a Bachelors Degree, ideally in a relevant field
  • Provide TB tests, carried out at a clinic in Pakistan which has been approved by the UK home office
  • Be able to understand, speak, read and write in proficient English  at least to Level C1 of the CEFR Global Scale, ideally C2
  • Be able to prove your knowledge of English by: either holding a degreelevel academic qualification that was taught in English (you will need to apply through Ecctis for confirmation that your qualification is equivalent to a UK bachelor's degree, master's degree or PhD) or sit a SELT (Secure English Language Test) with IELTS, PSI, LanguageCert or Pearson

3. Benefits

Relocate to the United Kingdom (with your family)* and after 5 years, have the opportunity to obtain permanent settlement, citizenship and British nationality. Minimum of 20,480 -25,600 approximately Pounds per annum. In Pakistani currency it is 475,000-600,000 Rs Per month (Depending on exchange rate).
