The Grid Manager will oversee the overall performance and growth of a designated sales grid, focusing on key performance indicators such as sales, revenue, business development, and channel expansion. This role involves driving mobile broadband sales, enhancing trade visibility, optimizing cell site utilization, and ensuring excellent customer service within the assigned territory. The Grid Manager will lead a team to maximize retail penetration, maintain strong relationships with channel partners, and coordinate marketing efforts to boost brand presence and sales effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive revenue growth from 3G and 4G sales, including handset sales, by establishing new smartphone shops and improving the quality of existing retailers.
- Ensure quality gross additions for 3G and 4G services and maintain high standards for handset sales.
- Expand the channel network by identifying high-potential areas within the grid for SIM selling, mobile load (ML), value-added services (VAS), mobile number portability (MNP), mobile broadband (MBB), ECATs, and postpaid connections.
- Monitor and ensure timely placement of purchase orders by franchises to maintain consistent stock availability.
- Manage end-to-end customer complaint resolution, customer satisfaction index (CSI) monitoring, quality assurance, and overall customer experience at franchise locations.
- Coordinate trade marketing activities, including brand visibility, below-the-line (BTL) promotions, trade promotions, market splash events, product visibility, channel awareness, business development initiatives, and special events within the territory.
- Identify untapped market areas and guide teams to increase retail penetration and sales coverage.
- Support Business Development Officers (BDOs) in planning efficient sales routes and prepare accurate sales forecasts for SIMs, scratch cards, mini-loads, and recharges on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Collaborate with the Regional Sales Head to plan localized sales promotions targeting areas with low sales performance and network utilization.
- Ensure that all staff and retailers are well-trained and knowledgeable about company products.
- Conduct regular market visits to verify stock availability and ensure channel partners comply with standard operating procedures (SOPs), discipline, targets, and trade promotions.
- Oversee merchandising efforts to guarantee the availability of point-of-sale (POS) materials at retail outlets.
- Work closely with Marketing and Channel teams to coordinate BTL activities, trade promotions, business development, and special events within the grid.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in sales management, business development, or a related role within the telecommunications or mobile broadband sector.
- Strong understanding of 3G/4G technologies, handset sales, and channel development strategies.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to train and motivate sales teams and channel partners.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze market data, identify growth opportunities, and implement effective sales plans.
- Strong customer service orientation and experience managing customer complaints and satisfaction metrics.
- Proficient in sales forecasting, route planning, and inventory management.
- Effective communication and coordination skills to work with cross-functional teams including marketing and regional sales.
