GSS Intertrade seeks an Accountant to verify and control the correct and timely recording of transactions and reporting of financial information, ensuring compliance with accounting and financial policies and procedures of GSS. The successful candidate will be responsible and accountable primarily in recording, monitoring and preparing financial management reports related to Revenue and Accounts Receivable. S/he ensures maintenance and high standards of accounting records, internal controls in accordance with International Accounting Standards, and executes established financial and administration policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Maintains timely book keeping of incoming transactions in MS Excel
-Maintains and prepare cashflow statement by reconciling accounts receivables and payables detail
-Generates monthly and annual financial statements; performs monthly analysis of balance sheet accounts and generates the respective report
-Ensures controls of expenses assigned to premises and work directly with supervisor to manage actual expenses
-Provide required documentation in audit processes
-Follow up with the regional office where there are delays or discrepancies
-Visits to regional office to evaluate internal control of financial and accounting processes, procedures and policies
-Participate in asset verification and inventory closing
-Employ appropriate internal controls to facilitate reporting of valid and correct transactions through reconciling amount
-Actively seek opportunities to develop own capacity through on-the-job training and professional reading
-Perform other administrative and accounting functions as may be required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
-University degree in Accounting, Finance or any related field from an accredited academic institution, with two years of relevant professional experience in the field of accounting
-High level of computer literacy, especially in MS Excel application
