Head of Internal Audit JazzCash

The Head of Internal Audit at JazzCash is a senior leadership position based in Islamabad, responsible for shaping and executing the internal audit strategy for JazzCash FINTECH Pvt. Ltd. and JazzCash Pvt. Limited. This role is pivotal in ensuring that governance, risk management, and control frameworks are strong and compliant with Group Internal Audit standards as well as regulatory requirements set by the State Bank of Pakistan. Beyond providing assurance, the Head of Internal Audit serves as a strategic partner who influences decision-making, drives accountability, and supports sustainable growth within Pakistan’s evolving digital financial landscape. The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking leader who integrates data-driven assurance and delivers meaningful insights across all business units.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the development and alignment of the internal audit strategy with the Group Internal Audit’s vision and JazzCash’s business objectives, fostering innovation through data analytics, automation, and continuous auditing methods. Develop and implement a comprehensive risk-based audit plan that covers all business areas including digital products, technology platforms, operations, finance, compliance, and cybersecurity. Conduct independent assessments to strengthen internal controls, risk management, and governance frameworks, offering proactive assurance on new digital initiatives and third-party integrations. Ensure adherence to the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF), Internal Audit Charter, and Group policies, upholding the highest standards of professionalism and ethics. Act as a trusted advisor to JazzCash leadership, maintaining transparent and effective relationships with the Audit Committee, Board, Regulators, and Senior Management. Serve as Secretary to the JCF and JCPL Audit Committees by managing meetings, documentation, and governance compliance. Prepare and present clear, insightful audit reports to the Board and executive leadership, facilitating data-driven decision-making and enhancing communication between audit functions, management, and regulators.

Required Qualifications

A minimum of 10–12 years of progressive experience in internal audit or risk management within financial services or fintech, with a demonstrated ability to manage complex audits and lead teams. Strong leadership capabilities to inspire collaboration, enforce accountability, and guide cross-functional teams effectively. Proven experience working closely with Boards, Audit Committees, and senior executives, with the skill to influence decisions and promote a robust control culture. Comprehensive knowledge of banking regulations, especially those of the State Bank of Pakistan, with fintech or digital payments experience considered highly advantageous. Familiarity with digital platforms, cybersecurity, and technology-enabled auditing tools such as data analytics and automation. Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, or CIA is mandatory; certifications like CISA or other IT audit qualifications are preferred. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly articulate complex information. High integrity, professional independence, strong business acumen, resilience, and a proactive approach to challenges.
