H&H Consulting is a development-sector focused management consultancy company based in the heart of Pakistan’s development sector hub – Islamabad. Established in 2007, H&H Consulting is formally registered under the Companies Ordinance 1984. We provide a wide array of consultancy services including evaluations, research, trainings, policy development and strategic planning. Our clients include international and national non-governmental organisations and intergovernmental organisations like UNICEF. In addition to Pakistan, H&H has also worked internationally in Afghanistan and Nepal. We also carry out research, training and other kinds of projects on our own initiative in support of the sector.

Role

The formal title of the position is “Business Development and Systems Management Officer.” As the name implies, the successful candidate will support proposal processes, including opportunity identification, proposal development, follow-up and communications and meetings with clients up to the contract signing stage. The ‘systems’ part of the title relates to the development, maintenance and application of systems using Microsoft Office (mainly Excel and Word) and traditional paper-based techniques. Such systems contribute to all parts of H&H’s operations. Examples include a consultant information management system and a project budgeting estimation tool. Systems-related work also includes the writing and updating of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents.

Requirements

The successful applicant will have a number of key competencies and attributes. Strong English reading, writing and comprehension abilities are crucial. Above-average levels of comfort in using computers and navigating the web are important, as are Intermediate-level skills in using Microsoft Word and Excel. Above all, the successful applicant should be detail-oriented, proactive in tackling challenges and willing and able to learn quickly. We would consider relevant experience in the development sector, business development and/or systems management to be valuable but not required. We are willing to consider both recent university graduates as well as applicants from related fields and skillsets e.g. business development in the corporate sector.

Keeping all of the above factors in mind, we would prefer candidates with roughly 2 years of relevant experience in total, but applicants who feel that they meet all of the above requirements are encouraged to apply regardless.
