To be a good textile sales representative, you should be a fashion aficionado and have a thorough knowledge of your employer's products. The position requires an extroverted, confident personality who likes people and enjoys working with them. You need to be a natural at developing professional relationships. Other qualities mentioned in job descriptions include being observant and persuasive.

Primary Responsibilities

Your job as a textile sales representative is to get retail or wholesale buyers to purchase your company's garments and accessories. This involves contacting and meeting with potential buyers, providing hospitality for them and organizing events such as fashion shows. A significant amount of travel, including international trips, is required. The job entails identifying and targeting prospective customers and answering their questions about products, prices, credit terms and other matters. You'll recommend products to customers based on their needs and interests, demonstrate and explain products, and provide samples and catalogs. You may negotiate contracts, credit terms and warranties, and provide support to customers after the sale. You'll be called on to negotiate contracts, quote prices, arrange deliveries, monitor the textile market and keep up with the latest products.

Secondary Tasks

Other duties include checking supplies, placing orders, creating product displays and working with retailers to improve product placement. Administrative tasks include preparing sales budgets, keeping records and filing expense account forms. You'll be called on to research and identify potential customers, compare the company's products with those of other firms and draft written proposals for customers. Expect to coordinate sales with marketing, management, accounting, logistics, technical services and other company departments; plan sales strategies; write reports to management; and attend trade shows and conventions.

 

 

·       Direct the Sales Team and establishing Sales Targets 

·       To monitor and manage retailer and detailer network and ensure effective services to all clients. 

·       To establish coverage, Distribution and Display objectives in line with Business Plan and achieve turnover targets, profit targets and market share targets

·       Help them in breaking the same Geographically, Monthly, Weekly & Daily

·       Co-ordinate Sales and Distribution by establishing Sales Territory

·       Work out a training Calendar for all players in the Sales Organization and implement the same. Co-ordinate with and execute all the marketing and brand activities as per the agreed calendar

·       Analyze Stock Movement based on the secondary sales and have a complete control on inventory. Do sales analysis and accurately forecast Sales and Stock requirement and coordinate with Logistics for the same

·       Regularly have financial review with the Accounts Manager to ensure that the Budgeted Top-line and Profit Targets are achieved

·       Have a Clear focus on Traditional Channels to build Distribution, Visibility and volumes

·       Establish Travel and Market Contacts Plan for Self, Direct reportees and entire Sales Team

·       Have Periodic Revision on the Progress of Business, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly Regularly up-date your immediate supervisor and the marketing team on sales trends, market developments and competition

·       Ensure the training on induction manual to all the sales team members including the new recruits

·       On quarterly basis do SWOT analysis for your state and share the same with HO

·       Do half yearly appraisal of your team

·       Ensure that you have the budgeted manpower regularly as per business plan. Attract and retain quality manpower

·       To manage launch of new products and ensure performance and profitability of all products in the product range under the guidance of VP (Sales & Marketing). 

·       Ensure timely submission of MIS Reports as per Company norms. 

·       To analyze the performance of each HQ based on the reports in the Sales Force Management Software and initiate corrective action wherever required in consultation with VP (S&M)

·       To lead & develop PAN Pakistan Sales Team

·       To co - ordinate with other departments like Production, QA - QC, Distribution to ensure effective services to the customers.
