Job Description:

Horizon Technologies is searching for candidates for the position of Shopify developer.

This position requires a candidate with expertise in building modern E-Commerce sites. The candidate will write clean, reusable code with a strong emphasis on stability and performance, an expert in Shopify development, including building custom themes and features from scratch as well as modifications to existing elements with expert-level knowledge of HTML, CSS & JavaScript.

Job Responsibilities:

• Developing eCommerce sites on BigCommerce / Shopify platform
• Developing custom BigCommerce/Shopify themes
• Migrating websites from other eCommerce platforms to BigCommerce/Shopify
• Extending BigCommerce/Shopify functionalities
• Integrating third-party and platform-supported apps in the sites
• Setting up payment integration, shipping methods, and taxes in BigCommerce/Shopify platform
• Optimizing page speed of BigCommerce / Shopify
• Implementing SEO/CRO best practices in BigCommerce/ Shopify
• Transforming PSD layouts into presentation layer HTML5/CSS3 templates
• Working with version control systems such as GIT / SVN
• Handling multiple projects at the same time
• Producing high-quality work with a strong focus on detail

Requirements & Skills:

• Enhance UI/UX design
• Develop and test third-party Shopify applications
• Convert specifications and mock-ups into fully functional solutions
• Create (a) a custom Shopify website as well as able to (b) use Shopify templates
• Experience with Zoho CRM or similar like Hubspot or open source.
• REST APIs, Shopify APIs, and their usage
• Expertise in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Proficiency with at least one JavaScript component framework/library (Vue, React, AngularJS, or similar).
• Strong knowledge of modern CSS3 (Flexbox, Grid).
• Experience with working in a cross-discipline environment with designers and other developers to produce and vet ideas through prototyping early concepts.
• Strong knowledge of BigCommerce and Shopify platforms
• BigCommerce/Shopify theme development and customization
• Experience in Shopify App development
• Shopify template development
• Experience working with customers and helping them implement BigCommerce/Shopify storefronts
• A thorough understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues
• Strong understanding of responsive web design techniques
• Understanding of W3C web standards/semantics and accessibility guidelines
• An ability to work on multiple projects and tasks at the same time
• Great attention to detail and highly organized
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Willingness and desire to learn new technologies and languages
• BigCommerce certification
• Shopify certification
• Performance optimization and any tooling to support auditing.
• Server-side development and MVC frameworks (e.g. Laravel, Rails, Django)
• Typescript (or Flow).
•  Graph QL.
• A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related discipline
• Broad shop construction, launch, and maintenance expertise, as well as a general understanding of the admin system
• Proven skills in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, as well as a thorough grasp of the DOM
• Previous experience working with a custom theme and/or the Storefront API
• Working knowledge of Shopify's theming system and Liquid templating
• Previous experience implementing/debugging third-party Shopify apps, as well as building unique solutions if needed
• In-depth knowledge and expertise with vanilla JavaScript, jQuery, ES2015/ES6, and current JavaScript frameworks
• Working knowledge of Shopify's object/properties, AJAX API, and Meta fields
• Extensive testing and debugging abilities using the browser console and other tools
• Prior experience developing responsive layouts for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices
• Working knowledge of third-party services and APIs, as well as Shopify plugins
• Capability to communicate effectively and provide proactive feedback

Job Location:

● Baloch Colony, Karachi (remote also possible)

Job Timings:

● 7 PM to 4 AM (Mon to Fri)
