We are seeking an experienced HCM Solutions Architect to lead the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of Workday and related human capital management solutions. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the People Group, Finance, IT, and other key stakeholders to ensure the Workday platform effectively supports business objectives and enhances operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Workday modules, configurations, security, and best practices, combined with strong analytical skills to translate complex business requirements into practical system solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a strategic advisor to the People Group and other stakeholders by interpreting complex business needs and delivering scalable, maintainable solutions using Workday and associated technologies. Collaborate to define problem statements, evaluate business impacts, and align technology initiatives with organizational priorities.

Solution Design: Partner with global, cross-functional teams to gather requirements, analyze workflows, and identify opportunities to improve people, processes, and technology. Assess new project requests for strategic alignment and technical feasibility. Provide guidance on build versus buy decisions, managing technical debt, scalability, and performance considerations. Mentor team members and promote a culture of continuous learning.

System Configuration & Process Optimization: Establish and enforce scalable configuration standards and solution frameworks to drive automation and efficiency. Maintain system and data integrity through expert configuration of security settings, business processes, calculated fields, condition rules, and validations. Design and optimize data flows between Workday and internal systems. Serve as a subject matter expert across multiple Workday modules, including HCM, Security, Learning, Absence, Compensation, Performance, Time Tracking, and Analytics. Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to ensure system reliability.

Development, Support, and Continual Improvement: Lead planning and execution of major Workday releases, including feature adoption, regression testing, and impact analysis for stakeholders. Continuously monitor platform health and user experience to maximize business value. Engage hands-on in development, support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Workday configurations. Maintain a high-level understanding of Workday integrations from an end-to-end design perspective. Oversee documentation, version control, and change management processes across all modules. Stay current on HR system updates and recommend innovative enhancements.

Governance, Security, Privacy, & Compliance: Implement and manage security protocols to safeguard sensitive employee data. Collaborate with IT and legal teams to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations. Prepare Workday architecture and change management processes to meet SOX compliance and audit standards by working closely with internal audit, InfoSec, and compliance teams. Champion governance practices that balance flexibility and control within the Workday ecosystem.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Over 7 years of HRIS experience with a focus on Workday HCM modules and reporting, including both technical and leadership roles.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in Workday configuration and implementation.
- Proven track record of implementing and supporting multiple Workday HCM modules.
- Experience serving as a solution architect or equivalent role on at least one full life-cycle Workday HCM implementation.
- Working knowledge of AI capabilities available within Workday.
- Ability to create custom reports using native Workday and People Analytics modules.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and make independent decisions.

- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with keen attention to detail.
