Job Description

The Gender Specialist is responsible for overseeing the full implementation of the Gender Action Plan under the Karachi Bus Rapid Transit Red Line Project.

  • The Specialist will lead the organization’s efforts to ensure that the mass transit system provides a safe and secure user environment for passengers and that the company and its contracted entities engage and involve women in all aspects of the project. 
  • The Specialist will provide overall strategic guidance and technical leadership in the planning, conceptualization, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of gender issues in the project.
  • The Specialist is also expected to facilitate trainings and workshops on gender topics.
  • She/he will play a key role in promoting partnership and strategic alliances with counterparts in government, multi-lateral and bi-lateral agencies and civil society in support of advancing gender equality.
