About the role
The NOC Engineer is responsible for monitoring the network, identifying service interruptions or degradation, and managing corrective actions.
This role will act as an escalation point and provide guidance to other NOC engineers in monitoring network events, maintenance of the network, real-time monitoring of planned events and maintaining configuration and documentation on the Opticomm operational network.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Event Management
- Monitor the Opticomm network for alarms, categorise and manage corrective actions
Incident Management
- Ensure Next Action commitments are not breached on Network Faults.
- Manage more complex and escalated network outage scenarios
- Manage communication with internal stakeholders, suppliers and vendors in an accurate and timely manner within a network outage scenario
- Ensure that normal service operation is restored as quickly as possible.
- Technical escalation resource for Field Support and Customer Connection teams.
