A successful Program Officer will display strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. They should be outgoing individuals who are comfortable working in a team-oriented setting and possess the ability to work with a diverse group of people. They should be analytical multi-taskers who consistently meet deadlines and adapt well to change over the scope of a project or program.

Typical day-to-day program management activities include:

  • Researching to support program design development
  • Planning, executing and monitoring programs and projects
  • Project coordination and managing project interdependencies including creation of project plan templates
  • Creating and managing a budget
  • Cross-project resource management
  • Identifying and addressing problems and risks
  • program documentation including creation of templates
  • Stakeholder communications, negotiations, and problem-solving
  • Aligning or realigning deliverables with program outcomes

This is a challenging role in a small organization therefore we are looking for a motivated individual with a desire to make a difference. Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills with a process-oriented thinking and an understanding of the education and development sectors in global and regional contexts are highly preferred.

Qualification & Experience:

  • At least 2 years of teaching, training or curriculum development experience (relevant to primary to high school audiences)
  • An undergraduate degree in Education, Humanities, Social Sciences or a relevant field.
  • Volunteer work experience is preferred.

This role is a mix of home-based, working within a remote team and on-field, living and working in remote mountain valleys and works best for someone who enjoys a bit of adventure with work. The candidate must be comfortable working from home and communicating with the team over virtual channels and flexible and adaptable to working on-field. On-field work also requires ability to travel independently. Opportunity to work from our office in Hunza is also open if the candidate wishes to work from office instead of home.
