The Investment Associate will be an integral member of the INNOVentures Global (Pvt.) Ltd. team working with the Chief Executive, Directors and General Partners to develop and manage the VentureLab and related venture portfolios. The Associate will identify, analyze and structure prospective early-stage investments, support the venture acceleration process, as well as provide post-acceleration support. Specific responsibilities include:
- Source, evaluate and execute a pipeline of investment opportunities that fit the accelerator’s selection/investment criteria;
- Identify and conduct due diligence on potential investments;
- Prepare and present investment memoranda and documentation for Senior Management, Investment Committee, and the Board of Directors;
- Work with entrepreneurs through their investment readiness and fundraising process, analyze and develop the companies’ business model and financial plans;
- Monitor performance of existing investments on a periodic basis and prepare performance reports
- Generate knowledge from primary and secondary research for sharing with key stakeholders
- Carry out proactive lead generation and business development across Pakistan
Qualifications & Characteristics
- Bachelors/Masters degree in Business and/or Finance (those with partial or full CFA qualification will be get preference)
- Very strong financial and business analysis skills as demonstrated by prior experience
- Skills to build financial models and prepare debt/equity term sheets and Investment Memos
- 2+ years’ experience in finance, i-banking, strategy or related areas.
- Individuals with background in private equity/venture capital are strongly encouraged to apply
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to present arguments and analysis clearly
- Ability to manage relationships with investees and external stakeholders
- The Associate will have shown a deep interest in the new technologies / internet ecosystem as well as emerging markets.
- Entrepreneurship or early stage investing experience is a significant plus.
- Analytical skills are necessary to be able to keep up with this fast-paced environment: Many companies have to be analyzed on a monthly basis
