Insize Metrology is seeking a skilled Equipment Service Technician with 3 to 6 years of hands-on experience in servicing precision measuring instruments, particularly within heavy industrial environments such as cement plants. The ideal candidate holds a DAE in Mechatronics, Electronics, Instrumentation, or a B.Tech equivalent and has a solid understanding of metrology principles, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), calibration traceability, and measurement uncertainty. This role requires the ability to independently read and interpret technical documentation such as instrument service manuals and circuit schematics, as well as experience with digital and analogue measurement electronics including encoder systems and LVDT sensors.
The position is based in Islamabad or Rawalpindi, with an expectation to travel to client sites across Pakistan for approximately 30% to 40% of the time. The successful candidate must demonstrate proficiency in servicing various instruments and equipment, including nondestructive testing (NDT) instruments such as ultrasonic flaw detection and bolt force testing devices. Familiarity with calibration laboratory standards accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 and the use of tools such as multimeters and diagnostic software are essential. Strong commitment to electrical safety standards, compliance, and hazard identification is required to ensure safe and effective maintenance operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and advanced troubleshooting of precision measuring instruments and heavy industrial equipment to identify and resolve electrical and mechanical issues.
- Conduct electrical circuit troubleshooting and diagnostics on programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and sensor systems to maintain optimal equipment performance.
- Interpret and utilize technical documentation including circuit schematics, service manuals, and technical drawings to execute repairs and maintenance accurately.
- Calibrate measuring instruments following established metrology principles and maintain traceability to ensure measurement accuracy and reliability.
- Service nondestructive testing instruments such as ultrasonic flaw detectors, bolt force testers, and coating inspection equipment to support quality control processes.
- Adhere strictly to OSHA and company electrical safety standards, conducting hazard identification and risk assessments before and during service operations.
- Maintain and operate diagnostic tools including multimeters, diagnostic software, and fault detection systems to monitor equipment health and detect faults early.
- Document service activities, diagnostic findings, and calibration results accurately using MS Office applications to generate comprehensive service reports.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team and calibration laboratories to ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 standards and customer specifications.
- Support installation and commissioning of new equipment at client sites, ensuring proper setup and functional testing.
- Manage the upkeep of service tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition and ready for use in the field.
- Communicate effectively with clients during site visits, providing technical support and recommendations for equipment maintenance and upgrades.
- Plan and schedule service visits efficiently, considering the necessity to travel up to 40% of the time to various client locations across Pakistan.
- Stay updated with advancements in metrology, electrical systems, and industrial instrumentation to continuously improve technical skills and service quality.
