By the time you get to the end of this job description, terabytes of real-time data consisting of billions of data points will have been generated by the hundreds of millions of sensors installed in rigs, wells, plants, and factories across the planet. These sensors drive some of the largest businesses in the world across a number of industry verticals including oil & gas, energy, retail, and healthcare. Due to the sheer scale of the data and the complexity of the associated use-cases and applications, the acquisition, collection, storage, and processing of sensor readings is still an old school manual task.
What are we doing?
We at Intech want to leverage our 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry to use cutting-edge real-time big data processing, storage, machine learning, physical modelling, and visualization to transform the way the world does business. To this end, we are building an all-encompassing data management and automation platform to enable our clients to turn raw data into an insights and business intelligence goldmine.
What are we looking for?
- An undergrad, grad, and/or PhD in Computer Science/Physics/Engineering/Mathematics/Statistics/Economics
- Hands-on skills and experience in machine learning, data mining, and predictive analytics
- Scripting skills in at least one of the following: R, Python, and Scala alongside declarative SQL-like querying
- A passion for using radical and unconventional means to make data talk and even sing
- Real-world experience in one of the following will be preferred but don’t worry, it’s not a deal breaker: Spark, Tableau, Hive, TensorFlow, and the Python data science troika (NumPy, Matplotlib, and Pandas)
